Those films can be either Expired Films that we buy in bulk roll and respool in 35mm cartridges or nowadays manufactured films that are respooled in 35mm cartridges. The "Marinette M101" is manufactured with a roll of the "Orwo NP55" that we hunted in the East Europe and which expired in 1990.
You will find photo samples made by our team. Some pictures were made using a local Black and White lab to show you how it will turn out if you don't develop it by yourself, some others were made using Stand Dev with Adox Adonal 1+100 - 1h00 - 1 turn.
Its expiration from 1990 has three main consequences on this film:
- A light veil appeared on each side of the film. This is known to appear with Orwo or other Black and White films after 30 years of expiration. This gives the film an unique frame. We left black shot on the photo samples to show you this phenomenon.
- The film's sensitivity decreased with the years which happens with every expired film. When launched by Orwo, the NP55 was a 80 Iso film. Considering its age we recommend using it at 50 Iso or 25 Iso sometimes.
- The grain is much more present than in the 1990's, it is a beautiful grain that was a super surprise when we first developed and scanned it. We put some zoom scan to picture this unique 30 years old analog grain.
This 24 exposures film is respooled using recycled cartridges, it doesn't have any DX Coding (Point & Shoot and Modern Reflex be careful)
This stock is old thus limited.
