Expired: Lucky Color II 100 35mm
Description
This film is a color negative film. Lucky is one of the last Chinese manufacturers of color films; the brand ceased production in the late 2010s.
This film is the "Lucky Color II 100", it has a nominal speed of 100 iso. We tested it at 100, 50, and 25 iso, and we recommend using it on a beautiful sunny day at 25 iso. We advise against using it indoors, even with flash, as its expiration is very pronounced.
This film is one of the most "marked" by expiration that we have encountered. Nevertheless, we were charmed by its unique rendering. As you can see in the example photos, certain areas have been "attacked" by a fungus, creating a unique veil and a particular textured effect. Since the results are far from classic, we do not recommend it for photographers who dislike surprises or are not accustomed to expired films.
The example photos were taken at 25 iso on a beautiful sunny day and were developed using standard C41 processing.
We offer a selection of expired films on our eShop and in our store.
The goal is to offer the possibility of shooting discontinued films and obtaining unique and unexpected results.
We cannot provide any guarantee regarding the preservation of these films.
